Government Investment Boosts Treated Grass Pitch and Stadium Rehabilitation

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye, has recently praised the Lagos State Government for its impressive efforts in transforming sporting facilities across the state.

During an inspection visit to Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Adeboye commended the quality of work executed, particularly the installation of a natural grass playing surface built to international standards. This development is viewed as a major boost to sports development in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

In his evaluation, Adeboye noted that the impressive rehabilitation of Teslim Balogun Stadium, alongside continued upgrades to Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan and Agege Stadium’s excellent condition, demonstrate the Lagos State Government's commitment to providing modern facilities capable of nurturing talent and hosting major sporting events. “World-class facilities are the foundation of world-class athletes,” he said.

Hon. Adeboye also praised Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for prioritizing sports infrastructure within his administration’s developmental agenda, noting that quality facilities remain one of Nigeria's most significant ingredients in discovering and developing future champions. He further applauded the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, and his team for their dedication and effective supervision of the rehabilitation projects.
