96-Player Draw Set to Feature World’s Elite Players This August in Toronto

The 2026 Canadian Open WTA 1000 event, taking place from August 2nd through the 13th at Sobeys Stadium in Toronto, will spotlight some of tennis’ most elite players. As per official reporting by Tennis365, Aryna Sabalenka will lead the list as the top seed, followed closely behind by Elena Rybakina and Jessica Pegula.

Not only is Sabalenka the highest-ranked player but she’s also seeking to defend her doubles title with partner Novak Djokovic. Meanwhile, Alex Eala, who recently made a mark at Wimbledon, will be seeded 25th, despite not being in top form as per her recent admission.

The draw ceremony is set for Friday, July 31st, which tennis fans won't want to miss!

A total of 96 players will compete with the top 32 highest-ranked players in the world earning an automatic seed. This ensures not just Sabalenka but also the likes of Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, and Elina Svitolina stand to benefit from early round byes as per seeds 4, 7, and 9 respectively.
