Aston Martin 'Back Racing' in Hungary After Upgrades
Having been last by a significant margin just a week earlier, Aston Martin made a strong impression at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Following chassis upgrades, the team improved their standing significantly—jumping both Cadillac and Williams cars in qualification and adding Haas to the list during the race.
Mike Krack, Chief Trackside Officer of Aston Martin, expressed relief about the improvements. 'I think we came here and we said the main objective is to go back racing,' said Krack after the flag. 'I think we achieved that.' The upgrade package works well now, and the team focuses on bringing further advancements.
Competitiveness Gained
The revised chassis AMR26 showed substantial improvement, even though Hungary wasn't a perfect weekend for the team. Lance Stroll experienced a suspension failure early in FP1, while Fernando Alonso managed to earn P16 in Q2—a landmark achievement for Aston Martin in 2027.
