According to reporting by CBS Sports - Headlines, Boston College's athletic director Blake James denied that the firing of longtime radio analysts Kevin Collins and Josh Maurer was at the request of the new coach Luke Murray. The decision, James said, was made by Boston College Athletics administrators in consultation with their MMR partner.

Collins and Maurer were fired a few days before August 1, making it difficult for them to secure full-time work ahead of college basketball's upcoming season. New coach Murray reportedly wants the program to start afresh without any remnants of the past regime connected.
