90% Qualification Rate for African Teams at FIFA World Cup: Motsepe Celebrates and Ponders on Future Success

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a boost in coaching funding as part of its efforts to capitalize on the momentum from the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Speaking recently, CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe praised Africa's historic performance and pledged to enhance training programs across the continent.

Nine out of ten African teams made it past the group stage in the expanded 48-team tournament, marking an impressive 90% participation rate— the highest ever recorded by any continent at a FIFA World Cup. Notable among these were Morocco's runs into the quarterfinals and their team's previous success to secure a place amongst Africa’s elite squads.
