11 Top Players Withdraw from Cincinnati Open as Alcaraz Joins the List
Nearly two weeks before the start of the 2026 Cincinnati Open, 11 players have officially pulled out. The event, set to run from August 13 to 23 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, has seen its star lineup thin as Alcaraz and Paolini among others will not play this year.
Carlos Alcaraz, who defended his title last year but is now sidelined due to a wrist injury, joins other high-profile withdrawals. Top 5 players in the ATP and WTA rankings have also pulled out as the tournament focuses on the upcoming US Open for many of these athletes.
Athletes' Withdrawals
On the men’s side, Holger Rune will miss Cincinnati due to an Achilles injury that has forced him to delay his comeback. Paolini too won't compete as she aims to be fully ready for the US Open and the rest of her season.
