Nigerian Navy Targets Infrastructure Ahead of Illicit Activities
The Nigerian Navy has taken preemptive action against crude oil theft syndicates in the Bonny axis of Rivers State. In a targeted operation, FOB Bonny personnel discovered and dismantled seven concealed pits around Dema Abbey community.
Director of Naval Information, Capt Abiodun Folorunsho, outlined that four of these dugout pits had been recently excavated, indicating an imminent plan to support crude oil theft. The Navy’s proactive strategy aims at disrupting such activities early, weakening the logistics chain for illegal refining.
This latest operation is part of broader efforts by the Nigerian Navy under Operation DELTA SENTINEL to safeguard Nigeria's critical oil and gas assets and maintain national economic security.
