A cyclist who reported a close pass but ended up fined for poor biking
After filming and submitting footage of a driver passing too closely, a British cyclist found himself on the receiving end of a $1,600 fine. The incident unfolded in West Yorkshire.
The case began when the cyclist submitted helmet-captured video to local police after an alleged close pass by another driver. However, as officers reviewed the footage, they noticed that the cyclist had been riding unsafely himself just moments later.
According to ITV News, the cyclist approached a parked vehicle while an oncoming car was traveling in the opposite direction. Rather than slowing down or stopping safely, he chose an extremely dangerous path, forcing the driver to hug the curb to avoid hitting him.
