The British actor excites F1 fans with talk of future movies

British actor Damson Idris, who played Joshua Pearce in the blockbuster F1 The Movie, hinted at potential sequels during a recent Beyond The Grid episode. The hit film grossed over $630 million and featured unprecedented access to Formula 1 racing.

Idris shared his excitement over a return to the action, saying, “There’s talks, there’s not much I can say but there’s exciting conversations that are happening.”

Future Plans for Pearce on Track?

Idris has been appointed as a Global Brand Ambassador for F1 and admitted he would love to take part in any potential sequels. ‘100%, in a heartbeat,’ Idris shared, expressing his eagerness to get behind the wheel again.

“Just for the experience to get in the cars again, and drive round the tracks,” he told Beyond The Grid host Tom Clarkson. “I’d have to get quicker! That’d be so embarrassing – 'Damson you’ve slowed down!'”

The Family-Friendly Spin

Idris spoke passionately about the film’s appeal as a family-friendly movie, which has seen people watching it 19 times. “We don't often get that with movies,” he noted.
