Gymnast falls from horizontal bar during competition
England’s Gabriel Langton was forced to withdraw mid-competition after a fall from the horizontal metal bar at The Arena in Glasgow. The 19-year-old, competing for City of Birmingham Gymnastics Club, experienced a hard landing that necessitated extensive medical attention on the spot.
The injury occurred during the men's team gymnastics final with just three metres to go after Langton missed his catch, leading to a significant delay as he was treated by up to a dozen staff. Despite the commotion, spectators continued to focus on the matches, giving huge applause for what they witnessed, showing their support even amid such a harrowing incident.
