A terminally ill hospital patient gets a live concert to fulfill his metal dreams
When Ross, a young Canadian heavy metal fan, was fighting for the last of his days, he had one final wish: a live metal concert. Doctors at Bruyère Health's Saint-Vincent Hospital granted this request by setting up a special music event that included Ottawa band The Scepter performing just hours before their scheduled gig.
The 21st-century miracle took place inside the hospital on July 21, starting at 1 p.m. Ross was transformed from a patient room to a mini concert venue as musicians played a set tailored for this special occasion. The Scepter's effort came after staff learned of Ross' dream and sought to bring it home.

Unit Manager Ange Habiyambere shared the experience, explaining how the hospital team honors patients' wishes by asking what matters most to them and finding ways to make it happen. The Scepter said they were honored to be part of the historic performance.
