McLaren’s Team Principal Downplays Hungary Success as Ferrari Advantage Persists
Lando Norris secured McLaren's first pole position in Budapest, following their latest upgrades to the MCL40. However, team principal Andrea Stella remains cautious about claiming an advantage over Ferrari for the remainder of the season.

The pole position was a result of Norris making the best use of conditions, with Stella noting significant aerodynamic upgrades and power unit optimizations. However, he stresses Ferrari's superior cornering grip remains a challenge for McLaren.
Upgrade Program Paced and Limited
Stella indicated that this upgrade is part of a broader plan distributed over several rounds. McLaren has successfully implemented upgrades but continues to face Ferrari’s edge in low-speed corners and braking, suggesting any potential advantage is modest at best.
