Minister Urges South-East Leaders for Security in Region

Gen. Christopher Musa (rtd), the Minister of Defense, has called on governors and leaders of the South-East to work together with the Federal Government to secure peace and lasting stability.

Musa made this appeal during the first South-East security summit held in Umuahia, which was organized by the Ministry of Defense with support from the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Community Engagement – South-East. The minister highlighted that the region is economically vibrant but faces persistent criminal activities.

He stressed the commitment of President Tinubu’s administration to peace and stability in all regions, including the South-East, stating that this initiative was taken through the security summit. Gen. Musa also outlined a new strategy for addressing insecurity nationwide, urging South-East leaders to work together with federal authorities to combat criminality.
