Tigers’ Pitching Ace Montero and Lee’s Home Run Key to Series Victory

On Wednesday, July 22, Detroit Tigers' Keider Montero delivered a standout performance as they defeated the Chicago Cubs 5-1 at Wrigley Field. The victory was Montero's second win on his current road trip.

Montero moved from the bullpen back to the starting rotation and allowed just one run in 5⅓ innings, while Hao-Yu Lee showcased power with a three-run home run, his fifth of the season.

The Cubs took an early lead with Seiya Suzuki’s solo homer in the first inning. However, Spencer Torkelson answered quickly with his nineteenth homer of the season, setting the stage for a thrilling game.

On the mound: Montero to the Rescue

Montero's performance was pivotal in the Tigers' victory. He retired 10 straight hitters before allowing a run and struck out eight batters without walking any.
