The New York Knicks' OG Anunoby believes the NBA Europe plans could bring basketball to a new level in the United Kingdom. Speaking to BBC Sport - Basketball, Anunoby expressed his excitement about the upcoming league, set for launch in October 2027 with aspirations of hosting 16 teams including potential franchises in London and Manchester.

The deadline for final bids to own franchises was in June 2023, setting a precedent for strong demand. The NBA received bids between $500m (£372m) and $1bn (£745m) for each target city, with Laura Pinnell, vice-president of the NBA across Europe and the Middle East, emphasizing the UK’s potential as one of the 'biggest opportunities'.
