NBF’s Efforts to Regulate Professional Boxing Snubbed by NBB of C

The General Secretary of Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C), Remi Aboderin, has made it clear that only his organization can regulate professional boxing in Nigeria. According to reporting by Sports247 Nigeria, Aboderin argues the National Sports Commission’s directive is unambiguous: the NBF, an amateur association under the NSC umbrella, must not be involved in pro-boxing despite recent incursions.

During a segment on ‘Inside Naija Sports’, Aboderin stated that officials from the Nigerian Boxing Federation (NBF) are trying to undermine recognized regulations. He cited a letter from the DG of the National Sports Commission, Mr Bukola Olopade, which explicitly states that the NBF is not authorized for professional boxing activities.
