Combining Education & Elite Sport: Nigeria's N-SEEP Initiative

The National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Federal Ministry of Education have unveiled the National Sports and Education Excellence Programme (N-SEEP). This ambitious initiative seeks to integrate higher education with elite sports training, nurturing both academic and athletic brilliance.

NINE tertiary institutions—University of Ibadan, Ahmadu Bello University, Federal College of Education, Okene, Babcock University, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, University of Benin, and Muhammad Buhari University—will host the first phase of N-SEEP. Phase One is set to begin during the 2026/2027 academic session.
