Troops Foil ISWAP Infiltration Attempts
Army troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Haden KAI (OphK), thwarted multiple infiltration attempts by suspected ISWAP terrorists in central Borno State on Friday. The attacks targeted key areas around Maiduguri and Buratai axis, including Muna Garage, Shuwari Village, Ajilari Cross, Miringa, and Dutsen Kura.
According to information disclosed by the Nigerian Army via a X post, the operations took place between 12:20 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., when over one hundred heavily armed insurgents tried to breach Maiduguri city limits. The army claims it detected the terrorist movements early with its effective intelligence network and launched counter-attacks from all directions.
Troops engaged terrorists with heavy fire, disrupting their coordinated assaults before they could penetrate key infrastructure in Maiduguri.In addition to keeping the city safe, troops also neutralized infiltration attempts at Miringa and Dutsen Kura.
