Speaking at the maiden multi-sports gathering organized by the Nigeria Diaspora Talents Development Committee (NDTDC) in Hertfordshire, UK, NSC Director-General Honourable Bukola Olopade emphasized that this initiative is not just about reclaiming lost talents. It's also a strategic move to ensure Nigerian youths have access to top-tier training and support from an early age.
“We have the resources to take care of our young athletes,” Olopade stated, “and we will do that.” This mandate comes in the wake of 18 Nigerian-born players who featured for different countries at this year's FIFA World Cup, including Bukayo Saka playing for England and Michael Olise for France.
