Nigeria's Okoronkwo Alleges $700 Theft at WAFCON Hotel in Casablanca
Esther Okoronkwo, a forward for Nigeria’s Super Falcons, has accused housekeeping staff of stealing $700 from her and several teammates' wallets during the team’s preparation for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The allegations surfaced through Okoronkwo's Snapchat posts, where she stated that cleaning people had stolen money when they were not present in their rooms at the Marriott Hotel in Casablanca.
Okoronkwo initially said $500 was taken but later corrected it to $700 after recounting her funds. Speaking out on social media, Okoronkwo blamed the housekeeping staff and mentioned that players were not happy with their response.
