Cameron Norrie overcomes early deficit to down Australian James Duckworth in straight sets

British number two Cameron Norrie booked his place in the Los Cabos Open quarter-finals by defeating Australia's James Duckworth 6-4, 6-4. Norrie had to come from behind after falling 3-0 at the start of the first set but ultimately secured a convincing straight-set victory. The British player will face former top-20 player Bernard Tomic in the last eight.

Since ending a six-match losing streak with a hard-fought first-round win over Aleksandar Kovacevic, Norrie showed strong performances on his journey to this stage. He broke twice during the second set and survived late wobbles to serve out the victory. It is the second-highest ranked player still in the draw after top seed Jiri Lehecka lost to Hong Kong's Coleman Wong.

Meanwhile, Naomi Osaka continued her strong form by advancing past Ashlyn Krueger in the Washington Open. The third seed Osaka dominated the match, leading 6-3 before Krueger retired due to an ankle injury.
