Ogun’s Deputy Governor Candidate Urges Voters to Back PDP in 2027 Election
Deputy Governorship candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) for Ogun State, Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, has emphasized that voters should back the PDP in next year’s governorship elections. Speaking during a visit to Ijemo community in Abeokuta South Local Government Area on Tuesday, Sowunmi-Kolapo highlighted the socio-economic challenges faced by Ogun and argued that only the PDP can provide solutions.
Sowunmi-Kolapo stated, “The people of Ogun must rally behind the opposition party that truly represents their interests and identity. The PDP is the most credible and formidable political party to reshape the fortunes of Ogun State.” The deputy governorship candidate went on to assure voters that neither the PDP nor its members would be intimidated by opponents.

The Ogun State chairman of the PDP, Abayomi Tella, echoed Sowunmi-Kolapo's sentiments, emphasizing that despite being out of power in recent years, previous PDP administrations have left a positive legacy.
Tella noted, “The achievements recorded by previous PDP administrations are still visible across different sectors. We must compare the party’s legacy with the performance of subsequent governments to understand its value.”
