Paris Saint-Germain have announced the signing of Spanish forward Ferran Torres, ending a four-year contract until 2031. Born in Foios, Spain, on February 29, 2000, Torres is a star who helped Spain claim the World Cup and European Championship titles.
According to reports by Punch Nigeria - Sports, Torres will wear squad number nine at PSG after making his debut with the club earlier this week. His journey to Paris began in futsal before he joined Valencia CF’s academy at age seven.
In three seasons with Valencia, from 2017-2020, he set several records and became a star both domestically and abroad, winning multiple domestic trophies including the Copa del Rey. His performances also led him to Manchester City where he played under Pep Guardiola.
Ferran Torres’ Career Highlights
In 207 matches for FC Barcelona, Torres netted an impressive 65 goals, including in the final victory against Real Madrid during 2024's Copa del Rey. During his time with City, he won the Premier League and League Cup, scoring 16 goals in 43 appearances.
International Achievements
Torres joined Barcelona from Manchester City via a January transfer window, becoming an integral part of their attack. His international career skyrocketed after representing Spain’s youth teams, where he won the European Under-17 Championship and Under-19 European Championship.
He has since become a regular for the senior national team, earning 65 caps. In this summer's World Cup, Torres etched his name in history by scoring the only goal of the final in extra time as Spain defeated Argentina, winning him the prestigious Man of the Match award.
