Aryna Sabalenka Breezes Through in Cincinnati

World number one Aryna Sabalenka needed just half an hour to advance past China's Wang Xinyu. The Belarusian ace showed her dominance with a 6-1, 6-3 victory. Sabalenka’s powerful game left no breaks of serve and only six points lost in eight service games.

“To get this win so quickly [is] amazing,” said the 28-year-old as she celebrated her ease of defeat. “I really trusted myself tonight without overthinking my shots.”

Sabalenka is the two-time defending champion at the US Open and continues to challenge her position at the top.

In other news, four-time major singles champion Daniil Medvedev had a tough day at Cincinnati. Despite leading 5-2 in the first set, with three match points on his side against Brandon Nakashima, Russian tennis star squandered the opportunity and fell behind in the second with eventual third-set victory going to the American.

Medvedev's anger boiled over when he broke a screen after missing his match points.
