Leading players may boycott mixed doubles at US Open

Tennis expert Jon Wertheim claims 'rumblings' of a potential player protest for the upcoming US Open’s mixed doubles event. The dispute centers on increased prize money and revenue sharing, spearheaded by stars like Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff since March 2025.

Players have demanded that Grand Slams agree to share 16% of their total revenue as prize money, increasing to 22% by 2030. They also sought greater investment in player welfare initiatives. This year's French Open saw players limit media duties in a show of solidarity, but Wimbledon opted for more cooperative talks.

Wertheim says the US Open is unlikely to agree to these demands readily.
