Kimi Antonelli Holds a Strong Lead in the Drivers’ Standings
Max Verstappen, known for his cutthroat competition, has praised young prospect Kimi Antonelli’s stellar performance in the first half of the 2026 Formula 1 season. After securing a maiden victory at the Chinese Grand Prix and going on to win five consecutive races, Antonelli is currently leading the Drivers’ standings by a significant margin.
Despite facing some challenging moments like Mechanical issues at Barcelona and reliability problems in Silverstone, Antonelli remains ahead of his closest rival, Lewis Hamilton, by 50 points. Verstappen, who sits in sixth place with an 110-point deficit compared to the Mercedes driver, acknowledges his teammate’s strong performance.
